Does InvestEngine contact customers on social media or messaging apps?

No. InvestEngine does not contact customers unexpectedly via Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, or similar platforms. 

We will never:

• Invite you to join private groups or chats
• Ask you to message an ‘assistant’
• Provide investment advice via direct messages
• Offer guaranteed or high returns

Common scam scenarios

We are currently seeing the following patterns:

1. Social media outreach followed by messaging apps: You may be contacted on Instagram or Telegram and then encouraged to continue the conversation on WhatsApp or join a group chat.
2. Fake advisors or assistants: Scammers may claim to be InvestEngine staff, advisors, or part of a support team offering guidance or exclusive opportunities.
3. Guaranteed returns or urgent opportunities: Messages may promise fast, risk‑free, or guaranteed profits, often with pressure to act quickly.
4. Lookalike or misspelled accounts: Fraudulent accounts often use handles similar to our brand, with slight misspellings or extra words (e.g. ‘support’, ‘official’).

Requests to move money outside the platform

You may be asked to transfer funds to external accounts, wallets, or platforms. This is a clear sign of fraud.

How to identify a fraudulent message

A message is likely to be a scam if:

• You were contacted unexpectedly
• You are asked to move to another platform (e.g. WhatsApp or Telegram)
• Investment advice or tips are offered via direct message
• Returns are described as guaranteed or risk‑free
• The account handle looks slightly incorrect or unofficial
• You are asked to send money outside of InvestEngine

If any of these apply, do not engage.

Will InvestEngine ever ask me to send money outside the platform?

No. InvestEngine will never ask you to transfer money outside of your secure account.

All deposits and withdrawals must be made through the official InvestEngine platform.

What should I do if I receive a suspicious message?

If you are contacted by a suspected fraudulent account:

1. Do not respond
2. Do not click any links
3. Do not share personal or financial information
4. Do not send money
5. Report and block the account on the platform
6. Contact InvestEngine support if you are unsure

1. Interest on uninvested Cash

We generate revenue by earning interest on uninvested cash held within client accounts. While this cash doesn’t earn interest for clients, it enables us to maintain our platform without charging fees on DIY portfolios.

2. Managed Portfolio fees*

*Please note, Managed Portfolios are currently unavailable to new clients.

For clients who prefer a hands‑off approach, we offer Managed Portfolios at an annual fee of 0.25% of the portfolio value. This fee covers portfolio construction, monitoring, and rebalancing by our investment team.​ It is important to note that we do not charge a management fee on the cash element of your Managed Portfolio. Instead, we retain all of the interest earned on this cash as part of our charges for managing your portfolio. This means that you will not receive interest on the cash held within your portfolio, and we will retain any interest paid by our banking or custody partners.

3. Partnerships with ETF providers

We have established educational partnerships with leading ETF providers, which include joint marketing arrangements. These collaborations allow us to offer a broad range of investment options and educational content to our clients. ​

4. Operational efficiencies

Our platform is designed for efficiency, utilising automation and streamlined processes. This approach reduces operational costs, enabling us to pass savings on to our clients.​
