It couldn’t be simpler.
All you need to do is answer a few quick questions based on your financial situation, investment goals and time horizons and tolerance to risk. From there, our carefully crafted algorithms will select the best investments for you – allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy the rewards of your investment.
You will need to deposit a minimum of £2,000 as in initial investment. After that, you can put as much, or as little, as you want in if you have a General Investment Account and up to £20,000 per year in an InvestEngine Stocks and Shares ISA.
Of course, we always encourage you to save as much as you can comfortably afford. Saving money is worth the effort. It not only gives you options, but the more you save the easier it is to accumulate additional savings.
Whether it’s a safety net fund, paying for your kids to go to university or putting into a pension pot, planning ahead can see your financial worries diminish.
You can only invest a maximum of £20,000 per tax year in an InvestEngine Stocks and Shares ISA but you can invest as much as you want in a General Investment Account and there is no limit on previous tax year ISA transfers.
No, not at all. We endeavour to take the hard work out of investing.
Once you are up and running with InvestEngine, we will constantly monitor and finesse your portfolio to make sure it always stays in line with your investment objectives.
You don’t need to do anything. And you can always easily alter your portfolio at any time if personal circumstances change. Again, this can be done in a matter of minutes.
No. There is no minimum investment period and there are no withdrawal charges or penalties. Although investing should always be considered a long-term strategy, you can withdraw your money whenever you like. And because the ETFS we use on your behalf are very liquid investments they can be bought and sold almost instantaneously without adversely affecting the price of the ETF.
You can add money to your InvestEngine account in two ways – wire transfer or direct debit.
Wire transfer is a quick and convenient way of sending funds from one bank to another. Your bank will have an easy method for you to make a one-off payment into your account.
You can make one-off and monthly payments through our simple direct debit setup. One-off payments are simple, just tell us the amount you wish to deposit, and we do the rest. If you are setting up a monthly payment via direct debit, you can select the monthly amount you want to deposit and the date you want the money to leave your account. If you need help setting up your direct debit, please contact us at email@example.com.
At InvestEngine, you are free to add to or remove money from your investment account whenever you want, whether you have an ISA or GIA. We just ask you to hold a minimum balance of £2,000. You can also transfer an existing ISA to InvestEngine and transfer your InvestEngine ISA at any time. There is no charge for withdrawals from your account, but is will take a few days before your money is received by your bank account because we have to sell investments on your behalf (please note that you will be invested in the markets and you may not get back the sum you originally invested). Please note that if you withdraw all your money from your InvestEngine account, we will close your account and we are required by law to keep information about you for a period of time.
With InvestEngine, you can look at your portfolio whenever you like 24 hours a day. Simply log into your InvestEngine account on your PC, tablet or phone - your dashboard will give you a complete account history including transactions, fees and your portfolio performance.
Although you can use your InvestEngine account much like any online bank savings account, you should not view it as a direct alternative to a bank account.
And while it is easy to transfer funds in and out of your account, there is one major difference.
Normal bank accounts are designed not to lose money, while an investment with us can go down as well as up – and you may get back less than you invest due to market fluctuations.
Generally, though, an InvestEngine account will deliver much higher returns than a normal bank savings account.
Also, the amount of risk you take on with us is up to you. So, the more risk you do take on, the greater the expected long-term rewards. But you need to be willing to accept large, and sometimes dramatic, falls in value to achieve this. Losses may also be incurred which do not recover within your investing timeframes. A more cautious approach will more likely preserve your capital even if that implies lower long-term growth associated with conservative investments.
When you set up your InvestEngine account you have to provide us with bank account details. All deposits and withdrawals for your InvestEngine account must come from or go to this account as part of the Anti-Money laundering rules we must follow. If you want to change your bank account details, then you must contact a Customer Support Representative or send us an email on support@InvestEngine.com and we will help you.
In order to change your bank account details held with InvestEngine, we need documents evidencing your current bank account and the new one you want to register. Any money that is received from an account we do not recognise will be returned to the account it came from.
The value of your portfolio with InvestEngine can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invest. Learn more about the risks
