An Individual Savings Account or “ISA” is an account into which you can invest a defined amount of money each tax year and benefit from tax free gains on your investment. There is a tax-free allowance each tax year (6th April to 5th April) that you can put into ISAs (the “ISA allowance”). You must use the ISA allowance in each tax year and any of the ISA allowance that you haven’t used cannot be carried forward to the next tax year.
There are several types of ISA available; Cash ISAs, Stocks and Shares ISAs, Lifetime ISAs, Innovative Finance ISAs, Help to Buy ISAs and Junior ISAs. InvestEngine only offers a Stocks and Shares ISA currently.
You can get the power of InvestEngine making your money work harder with an investment from as little as £2,000.
InvestEngine charges nothing whatsoever for opening or closing your Stocks & Shares ISA or withdrawing money. Our management fee is an annual flat fee of only 0.45% and covers everything from creating your ISA to monitoring your investments and rebalancing your portfolio whenever necessary. And because they are passively traded, our ETFs attract a very low average annual fund cost 0.17% that is built into the ETF performance.
Yes, you can withdraw money at any time and there are absolutely no fees for doing so.
You can invest up to £20,000 in an ISA without paying any income tax or capital gains tax.
You can only pay into one Stocks and Shares ISA in any tax year. However, you can pay into different types of ISAs (such as a Cash ISA and a Stocks & Shares ISA) in the same tax year, up to a total maximum investment of £20,000 per tax year.
It’s quick and simple to transfer existing ISAs into a more competitive ISA. And it won’t use any of your tax allowance for this year providing the funds were invested before this tax year. Just fill out our ISA transfer form then relax whilst we sort it all out – we’ll move the money over for you, then your InvestEngine will get to work making your money work harder.
Once you’ve invested your maximum ISA allowance of £20,000 you can still get the power of InvestEngine making the rest of your investments work harder by investing in a General Investment Account with us.
An ISA is a great way to make the most of your savings and investments because you pay no income tax or capital gains tax on any gains that your ISA makes.
No, you are in control and you can withdraw money from any of your InvestEngine investments at any time without incurring any fees whatsoever.
Your InvestEngine Stocks & Shares ISA is composed of stocks, bonds and alternatives; the weight of each asset class in your portfolio depends on whether you favour a conservative, moderate or aggressive strategy. Our investment strategy takes into account your goals, investor profile, time frame and tolerance of risk, and aims to maximise returns over the long run by tracking entire markets. To do this, we use carefully selected exchange-traded funds (ETFs). These mirror the performance of a range of indices around the world and deliver well diversified investments. This approach keeps buying and selling to a minimum and is less vulnerable to the human error that comes with stock picking.
Anyone over the age of 18 and resident in the UK can get the power of InvestEngine working for them today. (You can also have an ISA if you’re a Crown Servant such as someone working in the diplomatic or overseas civil service, or their spouse or civil partner.) However, you can’t hold an ISA on anyone else’s behalf.
If you’ve already used your ISA allowance for this year, you can still get the power of InvestEngine working to make your money work harder with one of our low fee General Investment Accounts
